Opinions?

I like the new interface on it as well as they seem to have toned down the difficulty while slowly getting more complex instead of saying BUTTSEKS! when moving to the next difficulty.

I play on the 360 whenever I rent the game :) Having trouble finding the bundled wireless controller & don't like spending $60 for a game most times lol.

GH III is definitely the most evolved version of the game we've seen yet. This is both a good and a bad thing.

For starters, the song list is freakin' sweet! I was really disappointed with the crap in GH II, so the list here was a welcome relief. The graphics also look really good on the 360, and I think the guitar controller is probably the best one made for the game thus far. Downloadable content has actually been made available, and I would highly suggest the Velvet Revolver song pack for people who like them some rock and roll!

That said, they certainly tilted towards the hardcore gaming crowd in tuning the difficulty levels - I acknowledge that some of the songs should be crazy, but the stuff at the end of Hard is worse than anything you'd find on Expert in GH II. The songs are good, but with the exception of Through the Fire and Flames (w00t!), I am simply not willing to spend the considerable amounts of time involved practicing the songs over and over again in order to pass them on Hard (!). That said, if you can actually do them, you look like a rock star.

At any rate, the game is absolutely worth the somewhat-elevated price tag, and I'd suggest anyone here who likes rhythm games -- or just something fun and different -- pick this sucker up pronto.

Playing the songs on an actual guitar helps a lot, really.

Raining Blood? Was the closest to Red Octane has come to a guitar song that you need to play like the real thing.

Sorry, I forgot EARNING my levels is noobish while doing jackshit all game is skillful. Oh, blow up that car for xp? SURE! Fall 30 feet to your death for xp? SURE! Coordinating a doubles team through 48 grueling levels of hell? no thanks right? thats for nubs. All said, I still own CoD4, and play routinely =)

The level system is tacked on for CoD4 but the same can be said for Halo 3. All you have to do to earn levels in Halo is play games. Both good games though.
