Lucette dumped this statistic on me today: over 5 million people joined the beta for ESO! (A mind boggling number, imo). It's looking like this thing has the potential to really garner some players right off the start.
Also found this article on Gamespot: ___extra special magic link to article___ I'm liking what it looks like they're doing in terms of responding to feedback, etc. Looks positive!
Neat! BTW, the link took me to a 404 page.
Hopefully their "megaserver" architecture will work with the opening day influx of people. Star Wars had some long queues, which they tried to fix by opening more servers. Unfortunately, after the big rush, most servers were ghost towns and they had to consolidate. They've settled into a pretty good game, but that opening week crush is really hard on the systems.
And, while I have early access, I am not getting up at 7 am EST on a Sunday to start playing. ) I'll do the slightly later access, thank you ).
Hmmm...404 link....interesting....blast it that's another bug to fix! Oh wells. I'll fix that link after I post this.
You'd better believe that I plan to be there for the opening moments. :) They've also got plans for overflow servers to handle the opening rush. I like the architecture they've got set up for it; though it limits the "MMO" experience a little for those who are "queued"...at least there's an alternative to waiting. :)
For some reason my brain put 5 days early access on the Monday. Sunday is not as good because I have to attend some stuff for work :( I guess I'll have to get up early & get some time in beforehand.
I think I'll move the keurig onto my desk...yes...this is a good idea.
Because coffee always helps keyboards. )
Absolutely! :)
