The topic came up in vent tonight after the raid. Do we want to change servers before we invest too much time in our characters?

On the plus side, we could pick one with a lesser queue.

On the minus side, we won't really know the average queue until well after launch.

I haven't seen any indication that they have the ability to transfer characters between servers, so it will probably take a reroll.

Question....How much time do people plan on investing in this game? Do we expect to lose any of main stay players to the Dark Side? I for one am a huge fan of anything Star Wars, however I barely have time for WOW let alone investing anymore time and money into a new MMO. Which is why I'm sticking wholeheartedly to WOW and only WOW. While I encourage people to play games that they enjoy, I sure hope we dont lose to many from our ranks.

I'd rather not think about rerolling on a different server until at least a week or so after full release, to fully gauge how flooded the rest of the servers are going to be. Harbinger isn't alone; there are now several servers which regularly have queue times, and I'm betting that number will only increase. I'm sort of banking on enough people ditching Harbinger for a different server that we won't have to.

Let's see how things look in a week or two.

If there were free transfers, I'd consider it.  However, one of the big reasons I chose Harbinger was my wife had already chosen this server; it's a wonderful coincidence that Trivial is here too :)  I don't want to re-roll on a new server to follow a guild, unless she were willing too, and I'm not sure about that yet.

Long version:  Well, as I said in the "Purpose of the Forum" thread, there is no intent to move en masse to TOR.  Lots of games come out, Skyrim, LOTRO, Rift, Aion, My Little Pony Online, etc.  People play them.  We've still been raiding and playing WoW.  Add to that the fact that Real Life Happens, and we wind up losing old friends over time.  I would say that our losses have been to real life and not other games, but "No king rules forever."  People will get tired of WoW, it will happen.  And it means we have to enjoy the time we spend in it now.  I enjoy the raiding with the bunch of people we have and would like to continue it, and I prefer 25 to 10 man, so would prefer that.  I hear from a lot of people that "if it weren't for the people in the guild I'd quit", I would really like to keep a bunch of people that folks want to play with.  But all the people on the other side of the characters in game are people, real flesh and blood people with their own wants, likes, and dislikes, so I might not get what I want some day.  Right now, it's pretty good, though I wish we could recruit some more.

Short version:  I can only speak for myself, I expect to invest as much time as I want to, and no more than that.

From what I've seen so far, it's going to be a fun diversion from WoW, and not much else. I don't see it having enough (uncapitalized) wow factor to pull die-hard WoW folks away in the long term, but for now, it's different and interesting enough to warrant "side-playing."

For what it's worth, the Trivial guild which exists on Harbinger doesn't really have a concrete goal toward powerleveling to end-game content or anything of the sort; it's just a collection of folks looking for some familiar faces to enjoy a new game with. That may change in the future as people get more invested in it. If so, I'll probably hand the reins over to someone interested in managing that kind of a guild.

My Little Pony Online?  How come no one told me about that?  If y'all don't see me online for awhile, you'll know where I am...

I realize that I have probably not been playing wow nearly as long as most in the Guild at this point, and therefore not nearly as tired of the game as others might be. I currently don't have enough money to play both, but if I was choosing between the two for my own personal enjoyment I would choose SWTOR in a heartbeat. However, I am one of those that have chosen (via annual pass) to stick with trivial for the people that Ady and I have come to love here. <AOE HUG>

I actually have several good friends and family that are switching over to SWTOR so that made the decision even worse, however I do hope to be able to join you all as soon as employment will allow. ;) So, as long as the Trivial on WoW will have me I will stay, you guys make the game and the wiping fun. ;)

Nope, Butters himself said Hello Kitty Island Adventure was the game to play!

4:30 in the afternoon, Pacific Standard Time and The Harbinger is one of a handful of West Coast servers that's full. The rest? Light to Standard with a few at Heavy.

I think if it continues like this, it'll eventually balance out.

I've also seen that Harbinger seems to be one of the two servers that has been adopted by the Australians.  Our "full" time runs to quite late in the night as a result.  (The other one is a PVP server.)

Hello all...   I am very sorry to say that I am really out of gas for playing WOW.   I have been playing for 7 years and I just hit the wall out of no where.  I have been trying to put time into a druid but that has not really changed my mind much.   I am going to give TOR a try so once we settle on a server I will check it out.

The people in Triv are fantastic and it is my hope that I will continue to see you all on line in a galaxy far far away.

I think we'll be on Harbinger for a while Tek.  Come play.  :)
