So, Dragonflight. Thoughts?

Firemane has been content in her retirement to her farm in Pandaria but you know, her mage gear is hanging in the closet. Hopefully it still fits. Should she take it out of mothballs?

Well, speaking as someone who could use a regular mage on raid nights, I'd say yes, yes, a thousand times yes.  )

I'm glad the new expansion doesn't, as of yet, talk about an even bigger cosmic bad guy.  I had a bad reaction to Zoval's death scene, "I was only doing this to save us from a bigger bad coming."  Wait, you've been twirling your moustache all expansion long and now you want us to believe you're a good guy?  What happened to "everybody bow down to me as I remake reality."

I have to agree that the characterization of Koranos (the guy in the announcement trailer) is better than Zoval.  Which I think says a lot about Shadowlands.  It will be nice working for people I might like to work with, rather than being forced to work with people who'd rather you not be there. Dragons have a long standing fight going on with centaurs?  Sure, I can help there.  Remake life and death?  Sorry, I'm just a combat rogue.

I'm also interested in seeing how the affixes/scaling of the raids works in season 4.  It will be nice having a variety of things to do on raid night, and some other games have done well at adjusting scaling so that old instances can be reused.  Gives you a lot more content to play.

Gear catch-up right now is ridiculously easy (though I'm still disappointed that the main way to get the best gear is mythic plus, it seems like they are channeling people into too small a niche).  Zereth Mortis is considerably better to run around in than Korthia was.  So, pretty easy to give it a try...just have a taste.  (Do I need to break out the cookies?)

"Sorry, I'm just a combat rogue."

I believe you have misspelled Outlaw.

Also you've seen Zovaal's death without having finished Sepulcher? What happened to avoiding spoilers??

Anyway, their repeated claim thus far about Dragonflight (DF for short??) is that they've "been listening." I guess we will see.

I'm encouraged by the revamped talent system and the purported end to borrowed power. They claim to be designing a system that will persist across future expansions. Again, we shall see.

Dracthyr Evokers, yeah okay whatever. They look cool enough but if I come back I'd still be piloting Firemane. I'd probably roll an Evoker just to see the starting area though.

Love the idea of a back to basics story line. I didn't know Stonebro's name was Koranos but it's telling that I'm already more interested in him than I was any of the Shadowlands Pantheon of Meh.

Dragonriding. Intrigued if cautiously so. Want to see how they intend to pull this off.

Idk yet. Firemane will be watching with raised eyebrows over her morning tea. She did check on her gear to make sure it was all there and not moth-ridden, but she hasn't tried any of it on.

They now, as a part of the story sequence, give everyone the "endboss" cinematics.  So, the cinematics for Anduin and the Jailer both came up in game.  The main hub in ZM, the questgiver that supplies the weekly quest, taunts me with "do you want to see the jailer's demise again?".  The cinematic for Sylvanas' judgement is part of the story, not in the raid, and I've been subjected to, er, seen that as well.  I think one part of Blizzard wants everyone, including the non-raiders, to see the story, and thus moved the raid endboss cinematics to in-world.  The other part of Blizzard wants to put important bits that explain story and motivation in books to sell them, so it's all kind of a mess.  And yes, I'll continue to hide my feelings about that.

And NO, I did NOT misspell some other word.  )

(I did have a vision of Firemane sipping her tea, absent mindedly tossing a fireball at a moth that dared to approach her robes.  Lierra, up for a drawing? )
