Since we closed the old Star Wars: The Old Republic (SW:TOR) subforum, I'll mention it here in case someone wanted to give the game a try. They just did a big server consolidation, and the Harbinger is no more. Trivial is now on the Satele Shan server. Old characters that you have should have all been transferred intact, although a few of them may have name changes ( like a -1 added to their name if there was a duplicate).
The voice acting of all the quests does make it an interesting different experience from WoW. The best part of TOR is still levels 1-50, the original game. Each class you play has a different story, on each side; you can do all of that free, but if you want to try it I would recommend subscribing for one month to move from "free" to "preferred" player to get rid of some of the annoying UI restrictions.
Let me know if you want more information.
I loved that game when it came out, at least the journey to 50... but when it was then raids, the high level dailies on that one planet (wihch I found overly difficult) or pvp... i lost interest quickly. I wonder what happened to my acount/characters - i haven't subbed since a few months after retail, before they changed to "f2p."
Your characters are all still there, or should be. They just might need a name change. If you once subscribed, you'd be a "preferred" player, not a completely f2p, which fixes a lot of things. I haven't deleted anyone from Trivial, you should still be in there, and have access to the flagship and guild halls. You can see how Lierra has decorated them. )
yea, i have a bunch of "inactive" characters, and I'm preferred. Sitting on 6500 cartel coins, as I'd attached an auth to my account way back wheen too.
I suspect i'd be lost on my Sentinel, and what's there really to do at 50 anyways? :0
They added several stories/expansions past 50, not one for each class but some variations still for light/dark or republic/empire. Makeb (a new planet) is the first one, then quite a few more. (Makeb in particular benefits from playing it on each side.) The stories all play solo, it can be hard to group for the newest ones (an odd thing in an MMO). They instituted a level scaling, so that when you go back to an old planet your level is artificially lowered to something appropriate for that planet. This extends the life of those planets and that content. You are still more powerful, because you'll still have all your abilities and secondary stats, but the mobs are no longer grey. I don't think the stories are as good as the 1-50 ones, but they are ok. I liked Rishi, for example.
